Soulful Sketchbook

When you take your time to gather together images, words, textiles, books, and your own sketches, it begins to open the door to your imagination. By creating an inspiration wall of all the things that inspire, you will find that it sets the tone and will reveal so much about what you find beautiful.

I encourage you not to skip this step, to light a candle and put on music that moves your soul, and spend time with this lesson. Look at fashion books, art books, vintage papers, old photos, anything that you find beautiful. Add your favorite paint color on pieces of vintage paper, splash ink onto an old letter, dip your paintbrush into your favorite color of paint and then make mindful marks across the page. Be very conscious of what makes your heart race. Throughout this class, keep referring to your inspiration wall (or door, or real pinboard) I promise, it will reveal so much to you.
